2008 Jr Nationals Lines Persons

Recommendations for Lines Persons

  1. For the last 10 years at most Junior Nationals, we have had both singles players, or the losing doubles team call lines.
  2. Set a designated seating area for line judges
  3. After a match, officials should escort appropriate athletes to line judges seating area.
  4. The line judges seating area should be overseen by a volunteer (not an official- they are too busy). An athlete may be relieved from duty if a parent or teammate takes their place in the seating area.
  5. An official going out to a court will take the next available pair (not necessarily to the same court that the athletes came off).
  6. An official, at his/her discretion, may alter the order in next available line judges to select an older/younger set as more appropriate for the age match they are taking to the court.
  7. For the start of sessions, where the line judges box is empty, the 4-5 largest clubs at the tournament will be requested to cover a designated 3-4 courts for lines judges.
